So we’re wrapping things up with the details for the 2023 Summer Camp Pre-Registration!
I know it's taking a little time but as we all know and heard, “Patience is a virtue” and “Good things come to those who
wait”.
In the mean time, we wanted to send out the old classic Q & A’s for our Summer Camp
Here are some questions & answers that a lot of you may be wondering about our camp:
Question: Is it fun for them?
Answer: Our motto is “If it isn’t fun, it’s not worth doing!”. Rest assured that your children will definitely have fun in whatever we do. The whole “Fun” element is threaded through all activities and
training in camp. In fact, we always have special themes of the weeks to keep things fun and exciting.
Question: Are you licensed?
Answer: Yes, we are a licensed School Aged Child Care with NY State and follow their
strict guidelines.
Question: What will they do all day?
Answer: We follow a detailed agenda that includes character development, martial arts and fitness training, structured active games, supervised passive
activities, arts and crafts, daily park trips, weekly field trips, and much much more!
Question: Will my child make new friends this summer?
Answer: Yes, we are currently working on a curriculum based on teamwork and
getting to know other campers. Over the years we've seen incredible friendships formed
Question: What is the ratio between camper and student?
Answer:
We go by the standards of NY Child Care Council of 10 to 1 for children 7 or older and 8 to 1 ratio for five and six year olds.
Question: Is it expensive?
Answer: Our rates could work out to be as low as $9 per hour
depending on your enrollment and the amount of hours the children are with us.
Hoping to be part of everyone’s summer plans.
Stay tuned for the next email where we'll announce how this year's camp will be
revolutionary in terms of character development (and we'll announce our rates too)
Respectfully,
UMAC Shrub Oak Team
