At UMAC, we always look to create the greatest martial arts and after-school experience for our students and families. From when I started the school in 1999, I made the decision that anyone who teaches at our schools must
possess three things. First, they must have a passion for Taekwondo training with all the physical, mental, and spiritual elements that come with it. Second, they must love to teach, and pass on what they have learned to the students. And third, they have to be a student of perpetual growth where they are able to apply Taekwondo values in and out of the school. If you look at any of our team, they all possess these three requirements. The point is, we only want the best at
UMAC.
With that said, I am proud to announce our newest full time member to Team UMAC; Instructor Rob Bergmann. I have known Instructor Bergmann for almost 20 years. First, as my oldest son’s 5th grade teacher, then as “Jack’s dad”, shortly after as a student, then the Principal of Copper Beech Middle School, to a 2nd Degree Black Belt and now as a Certified Instructor at UMAC. He is amongst the most gifted teachers and
educators I have ever worked with and we are so excited to have him on our team.
Instructor Bergmann will be partnering with Master Tim Berlow at UMAC Shrub Oak officially starting August 28th. He will be in charge of operating and growing the after-school program, teaching classes, and assisting in operations of the school. We know that with the addition of Instructor Bergmann to UMAC Shrub Oak, the students will
continue to have the highest quality instruction and our school will be able to service more families making a greater contribution to the community around us.
Thank you for giving all of us the opportunity to work with you, and we look forward to an amazing 2023/24 school year.
All the best in Taekwondo,
Grand Master Chris Berlow
