UMAC Families,
I want to thank all of you for working with us as we navigated through the last 10 days.
As we explained, we had a student in class test positive for COVID-19 and were instructed by the Westchester County Health Department to have all in attendance quarantine for ten days. Both SI Carr and myself were teaching the class and all had to quarantine. Thank goodness for Zoom....so we could continue training without missing a beat! For the students that tuned in to zoom, I
am very proud of your hard work! For those that couldn't make the zoom classes, I can't wait to see you in class!
Whats the positive?
I am happy to say that there were able to continue our school support/after school operations. We even had the students train in person while SI Carr and myself were teaching remotely! I want to spend a special thanks Mrs. Scully and our newest team member, Ms. Mary Fennell for holding down the fort! They both stepped up and ran an amazing program!
I also want to mention that the student and parents are healthy and feeling much better!
Lastly, we had absolutely ZERO spread of COVID in our school. Nobody that was exposed and in the building at the time tested positive. There are of course multiple factors to why, however I can see that the safety regulations and precautions we take to operate play a huge part in that. I am grateful to have such great contacts in the Childcare Council of Westchester, the New York Health Department and a strong network of Martial
Arts Professionals that teamed together to navigate a situation like this.
As always, safety is our #1 priority! Since opening back up, we have made it our priority to provide a safe, clean and fun environment.
Again, I would like to thank all of the parents and families for helping us navigate through this situation.
I can honestly say we have the best students ever! I look forward to seeing you all in class!
Respectfully,
Master Berlow
