We hope everyone had a fun time at the first ever complimentary Board Breaking Pizza Party!
Lots of pizza broken and boards eaten! Or the other way around ;)
Big shoutout to Master Glaab, Senior Instructor Carr, Mrs. Scully T.I. Pierce and John for helping facilitate!
Schedule Change Starts TODAY!
Starting today, UMAC will be officially starting our new schedule and will continue with it throughout the rest of the school year.
This is a letter from Master Berlow: Updated 2/3/2020
Dear Parents and Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful week of training and super-bowl weekend! You may have noticed that I have not been at the school for classes this last week. I had some medical issues that needed to be taken care of.
I am endlessly grateful for Senior Instructor Carr coming in teaching while I was unable to come in. He is a true example of someone that takes an active interest of the success of all students! Along with that, thank you for all of the staff members and volunteers that came in to facilitate a high energy, highly attended Board Breaking Pizza Party on Thursday!
Please take a moment to check out an update to our schedule starting today.
On MLK Jr. Day, the of all UMAC Locations joined together at Bear Mountain Lodge for a full day vision meeting. At this meeting we discussed what we can do to make sure that all programs that we offer deliver the best value and results for our students!
Part of that meeting was discussing any challenges or conflicts and a solution to overcome them. After discussing, we made the following changes:
1) Sparring Class now 6:15 on Thursdays.
Reason: With so many events, we have had to cancel our Friday classes so many times (Just like today)! This will make it easer for sparring to be more consistent and give more students a chance to spar. Family class on Thursdays will now be from 7:15-8:15 pm.
2) First 2 classes during the week 15 minutes earlier.
Reason: We want to give the After School students 30 minutes of mat time after finishing their Taekwondo Training and Homework. They definitely deserve a break and some time to play some games and have some fun after a full day of school, training and studying!
3) Saturday Dragons and Family Class 15 minutes earlier.
Reason: With all of the great birthday parties on Saturdays, we want to give a little bit more of a buffer in between classes and parties! This will also give Master Berlow and staff a chance to communicate more with parents and families.
At UMAC, we are consistently trying to improve and deliver the best product to all students. With that, change is sometimes a must. We hope that everyone understands the changes and it helps you in someway get a chance to take part in all we have to offer!
For blackbelt club students, I hope to see more of you in sparring class, so you can develop to martial arts values that sparring will teach you!
If you have any questions or concerns, I would love to personally help you!
Also, keep an eye out for our official summer camp calendar and daily activities! Coming VERY soon! The details are being finalized and we are looking at some potential opportunities to make this summer even better!
Thank you for your continued support of our vision to impact the community through martial arts values!
Sincerely,
Master T Berlow
