UMAC Championship @ Breakathon
only 3 weeks away!
Are you up for the challenge?!
Join us at Middletown High School on March 28th for our annual UMAC organizational championship and breakathon!
Our goal is for students to challenge themselves to earn a medal and get the experience of stepping out of their comfort zone. One of Master Berlow's favorite quotes is "Get comfortable with being uncomfortable!"
All students are invited to compete, black belt club that has been in sparring class is welcome to spar!
Dragons (4-6) year old students can compete in the special parkour course!
When you step out of your comfort zone, amazing growth will happen!
IMPORTANT UMAC SHRUB OAK UPDATE REGRARDING THE NOVEL COVID-19 VIRUS
With concerns over COVID-19 our UMAC staff is doing all we can to help keep our facility a safe place for all. Pleas see below a list on how we are being pro-active?
- There will be frequent walk-through's and cleaning of the facility.
- Twice a week a professional deep clean of the school.
- We follow the procedures of the Child Care Council including:
- Frequent cleaning
- Frequent sanitizing
- Doing a health check in all classes (Asking how a student is feeling and noting if they do not feel well)
- Reporting all spreadable illness to our UMAC staff
- All students who are ill must stay home until they have a doctor's note saying they are cleared to be in the facility
- Having students wash hands and minimal physical contact with other students
We will be adjusting some of our classes going forward:
- For now, no high fives or handshakes before, during or after class
- Wiping down equipment between classes
- Limiting physical contact in class
- For self defense week we are going to stick to striking
What can you do to help protect you and your family?
- Wash your hands for 30 second and encourage your children to do so as well (the CDC considers this more effective than hand sanitizer)
- Avoid touching your face; this is how germs spread faster
- Listen to your body if you do not feel well stay home and rest
- If sick do not come into facility unless have a note clearing you from a doctor
- Keep training, according to research one of the best immune boosters is physical activity
In the case of illness in the facility we are working on back up plans to assist you and your family so we are being proactive and not reactive.
If you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out and ask our staff.
